In the app
Open Spot on your phone and go to Profile → Delete my account. You’ll be asked to type DELETE to confirm, and that’s it — no email, no support ticket, no one to talk out of it.
If you want a copy of your data first, take it before you start: choose Profile → Email me a copy. Once deletion begins there is nothing left to export.
On the web
The same thing lives at spot.coach/me/profile once you’re signed in. Use this if you’ve already deleted the app.
If you can't sign in
Email [email protected] from the address on your account. We’ll verify it’s you and do it for you.
We don’t put a form on this page on purpose. A public form that deletes whichever account matches an email address is a way to erase someone else’s training history, so every route to deletion either goes through a signed-in session or through a person checking who you are.
What gets deleted
Deletion covers your account and training data, subject to the limited retention described below:
- Every workout you logged, and every set in it
- Every check-in and every answer
- Your measurements, bodyweight history and personal bests
- Your progress photos, deleted from our file storage as well as our database
- Your form videos, deleted from our video provider as well as our database
- Your whole message thread with your coach, both directions
- Your name, email, goals, injuries and notes
- Your sign-in credentials and every device signed in as you
Your coach loses access the moment you confirm — before any of the above has finished running. That part is not a background job.
What we have to keep
We retain only records needed for applicable accounting, compliance and legal claims, with access restricted to those purposes. Removing direct profile details does not necessarily make retained records anonymous.
- Payment records. Invoices and their amounts, because tax law requires a business to keep them. We remove account links where possible; transaction references and seller details may remain in legally necessary records. Stripe also retains records under its own policies.
- A record that a deletion happened — the date and the reason, with your email stored as a one-way hash, and consent evidence needed to demonstrate lawful processing and handle legal claims. A hash may still be linkable to you and is treated as protected data.
Necessary purchase, withdrawal and dispute correspondence may also be retained. Restricted backups and technical logs follow their applicable retention schedules and legal deadlines. See the Privacy Policy. Copies you exported to another service or device are not automatically erased by closing Spot. Your coach is responsible for any copies they retain elsewhere; we notify recipients of deletion requests where required by law.
How long it takes
For clients and solo users, access ends immediately. Erasure runs as a background job, including retries when a file or video provider is unavailable. Our operational target is completion within 30 days, subject to necessary legal retention and applicable backup schedules. We must meet any shorter applicable legal deadline. Coach accounts follow the notice process below.
You’ll get one email when it’s finished, saying what was erased and what was kept. That’s the completion notice; we may still need to contact you about an outstanding payment, legal request or dispute.
If you're a coach
Deleting your coach account also deletes every client you were coaching, and everything of theirs. Because that erases other people’s data as well as your own, it comes with 30 days’ notice. Sign in and go to Settings → Account, choose Delete account and type your handle to confirm.
Take a copy first, from the same page: your profile, packages, templates, library, client list and payment records, as a file emailed to you.
Your clients’ coaching data — check-ins, measurements, progress photos, videos, messages and the rest — isn’t in that file, but it’s yours to have back: we process it on your behalf. Email [email protected] before your deletion date and we’ll hold the deletion until we’ve delivered all of it. If you don’t ask, it’s securely deleted on the date, except anything we’re legally required to keep.
The same day:
- Your public page goes offline and stops taking new clients, and you leave the app’s coach directory
- Your Spot plan and your clients’ subscriptions are set not to renew. Nobody is refunded or charged early
- Every active client is emailed the date, what happens to their data, and a link to download a copy
- You get an email with the date and a way to undo it
You keep full access for the 30 days, so you can talk to your clients and wrap things up. Changed your mind? Undo it from Settings any time before the date: your page and listing come back, the cancellations Spot scheduled are lifted where Stripe still allows it, and your clients are told.
On the date, every client account you coach goes through the same deletion described above, then your library and exercise videos, programmes, check-in templates, packages and profile are deleted. Payment and consent records remain protected; some purchase records retain seller identity details. Your own Stripe account belongs to you and we don’t touch it. You get one last email when it’s done.
